Nueratel Telecom International Calling Review : India 1 cent connection fee plan

Nueratel Telecom (New Era telecom) is offering Post paid international calling services. Companies use different tactics to attract customers, but we should do a analysis before signing up with the companies. We have reviewed Nueratel US services plans and got few very interesting facts which you should know before signing up with them.

Nueratel.com is offering two different Postpaid plans to is customers.

NO Connection Fee Plan (1.9cents/min to INDIA)
  • Zero Connection Fee
  • Average call rates (1.9cents/min to INDIA )
  • 60 minutes free in first month only for India, Bangladesh and Pakistan for paid users.
  • 180 minutes free to Middle East and Philippines (30min/month for 6 month)
  • 10% discount each month off their bill till they reach $300
  • 10% discount if customer signs up for auto debit
  • $5 customer referral credit
  • Refundable deposit of $38.95
Connection Fee Plan (1 Cent/min calls To India)
  • Cheap call rates to INDIA and other countries (1 cent/min calls to INDIA)
  • High connection Fee 9 ¢ per call surcharge and For India 29 ¢ per call surcharge
  • 60 minutes free in first month only for India, Bangladesh and Pakistan
  • 180 minutes free to Middle East and Philippines (30min/month for 6 month)
  • 10% discount each month off their bill till they reach $300
  • 10% discount if customer signs up for auto debit
  • $5 customer referral credit
  • Refundable deposit of $38.95
Final Review 
Their plans look great and attractive, but you may end paying more than what you expect at the end of the month. Their No Connection fee plan is costly in terms of call rates as compared to other providers, on the other hand, their One cent Calling plan or Connection fee calling plan is clearly has very high connection fee per call, making it expensive then the normal rates if you talk for less than one hour, which is sometimes technically not feasible. This plan is not a truly one cent plan. The other most noticeable thing is that Nueratel is a postpaid service and you need to make a security deposit of $38.95. There will be always a worry of month end bill. So will you choose a costly Postpaid service OR you want to use cheap prepaid international calling service, like 0.039 cents/min Calls to INDIA under promotion. We do not recommend our readers to go for their attractive plans.

This review is  my personal opinion based on the rates published on the website. Rest is up to the users to decide. Please share your experience if  you have with Nueratel.

  1. Yeah, they phoned me a few days ago. I though of signing up but decided against it as anywhere where I have to pay security deposit, I ain't going nowhere. :)

    1. I did the same thing today. Security deposit for a service I am not even convinced about!!! And that too with the misleading and one sided terms and conditions, given above.Contrary to what the agent tells me on the phone and not ready to confirm in writing!!

  2. Nu era telecom is a scam company. Their service won't work and they won't provide refunds.

    Nu era telecom is just a bunch of scammers fronted by poor, uneducated Indians and Latinos/mexicans working away in sweaty call-centers. These people couldn't care less about the customer as long as they can scam some money off the rich Americans.

    Their sister scamming company is Union Telecom (identical customer service website).

    If you get a call from either of them, very firmly tell them eff off.

  3. Wow. I read so many bad reviews about nueratel.com but I decided to give it a try on my own since this dude Shkar Lal Gandde had been calling me for 3 months now. Yesterday I fell into his trap and now I am not able to use the service. Their 8007615704 line is so poor quality and you can never get any body to speak to. I will give them a bit more time to fix their crap after that I WILL get the refund and complain to District Attorney Office of Miami. I will keep you guys posted as well. These scammers need to realise this is not India this is US and we've laws here.

  5. New era called me i got the connection they told me 1cent per minute to india but when i tried to make a call it said 29 cents per minute also i tried calling the next day and could not connect this company is a scam.

  6. NuEra telecom is a bad company. When they call to get you set up, they don't tell you all the charges they will charge you. They charged me for using their 800 number plus a bunch more. Now I want to cancel my account, they would not cancel it till I received and pay my final bill. Learn from my mistake and do not get involved with them.

  7. I have not used this service, but one of my friend was trying to make 3 members to open up account so that he can get some discount or something.

    I simply can not pay $38 for advanced deposit.

    Does not make any sense.

    1. You can tell them i cannot pay 38 dollars, and someone i know payed 4 dollars deposit, and they will open the account for you. that's what happened for me and my friend. But anyways don't go with them... they always overcharge you and add lots of taxes... And now I'm not paying them they need like 30dollars, so let me see where they can get. I'm not willing to give them my credit card... so i decided to switch to another company keepcalling.net... better, you pay with pay pal, and they show you the detailed bill with the seconds... and it also has pinless dialing...and at each time you call you can know how much dollars you still have.

  8. Dont trust these guys. They are a bunch of liars. I had their service, but I could not make any call with their access number. It was busy all the time. After I disconnect their service, they told that they wont give my $39 back, rather they would only give me a $50 calling card. They are making false statements that they never told me about refund and so I am not eligible for it..What a bunch of liars. I dont know how they are running business in a country like USA...

  9. I have very bad experience with NueraTel. I used the service and their network has some problem that transfers your call to international call and my phone service charged me $700 for international calling. I ask NueraTel to resolve the issue the customer service is so poor they did not response for 2 weeks and after then they refused to help......
    I will not recommend any one to use the service.

  10. I absolutely agree with all the comments above. These guys hide information. They don't tell surcharges.When you ask for refund, they will tell that they are not authorized and somebody will call you BACK. It took almost a week before some body called but again trying to sell their product. Finally when I stressed that I want refund they agreed to put it back. I did not find money credited to my account SO I called customer services back. They very proudly told me that THEIR POLICY FOR REFUND IS 40 TO 60 BUSINESS DAYS.

  11. I am another victim of New Era Telecom!

    Same as others, they disguised a deposit when I opened an account. They told me I was going to be refunded, without indicating the refund was not going to be cash but a calling card.

    Then, a year after service one rep called me to indicate they would refund me and requested a credit card different than the one I was using to pay for my calls. Guess what, instead of a refund, I got charged another $ 38. It was a pain and many calls until I finally received a refund for that charge.

    Then I asked for termination of services and a refund of my deposit. The result, they refused to refund me cash. To accept the refund as a credit card, I asked for the rates to Bolivia and they told me it was 5.5 cents/min. So, I accepted a refund with a calling card worth $ 50. So guess what, they lied again. The actual rate as I discovered by using the card was 35 cents/min. So when I called to complain, they told me they had nothing else to to do with me because I accepted the card.

    ANY ONE WAMTS TO DO BUSINESS WITH NEW ERA TELECOM THIEVES?

    this company is bad news. their parent company is union telecom. I have put my number on the do not call list. guess what they dont care and continue to solicit me.
    I had service through them a couple years ago. they charged me 38 set up fees. then they charged my cc 50 after I was advised that they had disconnected my service on my request. I called the cc and disputed the amount. it was refunded to me.
    Guess what a few months later there was another charge of 50 on my cc. I disputed that as well. I got reimbursed for that and after that I just canceled my cc and had the company send me a new cc.

I just got a call from Montreal agent few mins before, and when they asked for deposit, I was supesious and, said I never give my credit card details over the phone. Now he is asking me to buy a MC gift card to pay the deposit, and he is going to call me tomorrow. Mean time I checked reviews and here you go.....

  14. Thanks Guys for posting your experence with Nueratel. I recvd a call today and was almost got convinced to go for it. However for the sake of seeing their service reviews I sought one hour time. I am very happy that I did that and did not sign up immediately.

  16. Hello everyone. I see that a lot of people have problems with them. I had a couple of issues, but nothing major. One thing that i can tell you is that i have cut my international phone calls a 60%. I am willing to put up with a little because of the savings. I keep my eyes open if i see any funky bussines, but so far is good. Hopw this company better their bussines standars.

  17. Thanks you guys. When NU Era tel guy called me and spoke with me in my native language I wanted to trust him but any company asking for $38 deposit has to be reliable. Especially in telecom business, remember when phone card companies used to disappear and maybe opened up under new names and our phone cards became useless.
    Internet is not just for entertainment but this is also the best tool to share info. about scammers and big corporations ripping off the public.
    for eg. my new laser printer stopped printing after one week of use (sample cartridge dont print as many pages) Stopped in one week,, Come On... Error light came on and printer wanted me to buy a new cartridge but as I saw on yu tube, a piece of tape on the sensor window on the cartridge did the trick and it is still printing after 6 months although now it is time to buy a new cartridge. Why should I buy a new cartridge when my old one has plenty of toner? It is because the Broth corp/ wants me to throw away the half full cart. and buy a new one.

    Back to the phone business if a new co. wants my business, it has to prove to be reliable. I am not going to be the guinea pig for testing a new phone co. May be the comp. will close down or may be their voice quality is not upto standard.

  18. I have been disputing the charges on the last two bills (roughly extra $20 on both of them each)with this retarded company. They quoted 3.9 cents per minute to call back home but the bill shows roughly 12 C - 18 C per minute instead. I called the guy who signed me up, he brought the first down by $20 and never updated it in their system; now he won't even return my calls while in the past he was calling me everyday asking for referrals. After roughly 30 calls from David, John, Andy, Frank, XYZ etc. (2 calls per day on average) and having explained my side multiple times (everyone of these rip-offs start apologizing like heck, make a promise to fix the bill, comment my account, get back to me in X days etc.)...last Sunday they charged my ATM Visa card without my authorization while there has been no resolution yet.

    ATM card is not my account with them and I once used it to pay the bill via phone. They saved that transaction details and used the card without my knowledge, causing me a few headaches along the way. I am now disputing the charges through my bank with their bank. I hope they all go to hell and have a hot and sunny day there :-)

    I am thinking about calling BBB as well as the Attorney General's office too

    They are cheater. They try to suck every signle panny from you once you become their customer.
    They convenice you with an unbelievable low long distance rates with additional discounts and ask you for a security deposit in return. Once you pay security deposit through credit card and use the service, you are going to see a totally different bill with overcharged time and additional Network Access Charge,Telecom Relay charges and Internacional Access Charge. On top of that they charge additional fee of $ 0.01 per minute for using their 800 number. I call them three time to cancell my service and to get the refund back for deposit and was informed more attrective package and credits. Finally on 3rd call they told that it will take 4-5 months to get the refund.
    They send you email for your account setup and monthly bills but never confirm about account calcelation by email even if you insist they refuse to send account cancellation email. Finally I got offer to get a calling card balance equal to security deposit with a much higher call rate and asked to accept it otherwise wait for 4-5 months. Their main point is to get a deposit and then suck the customer.

    They are cheaters .I am their victim to last 6 months I am trying to ge my deposit back, one time they told me to give me a $ 50 callng card .I told them to pay me back the money , Which i hope they have to retrun .In the meanwhile I told at least 15 people personally not to fell a prey to them ,I am putting them on Facebook too so that they cnnot ripp off innocent coustomers .

  21. the guy called me few minutes ago...told me the rates and i was really surprised...at the end he asked me to pay $38 which i straight away refused coz i remember my cousin telling me about companies taking his money and then disappearing...next thing i did that searched this company's reviews and i am here...thanx GOD i didnt sign up for the service....

  24. Few months ago I got a call from these guys and while talking to him I googled their review. I asked him that their review says they are full of BS and that you are running a scam. The guy started to swear at me and since his English was not good, he started swearing in Hindi with all MC and BC. I was still speaking in english and he called me a "slave of the whites" lol. Then i hung up and said dont call me. 10 mins later his manager called who also started of like Gandhi but ended in enhancing my vocabulary in every swear word possible.

I got a call from NUERA and sign up a month ago with out doing research about thier company.After signing up did a web search right away and found out that I made a wrong decision.So,when I recieved a welcome call from NUERA I told the person that i am going to cancel and want my refund.He told me to wait 7 days for my refund.Luckily I was refunded $38.95.

  26. Be aware of this Farud Company!
    This company first asks you the current amount you pay for the service , and then offers you 1cent less, but by the time you spend 45 minutes to go through confirmation, finance, .. the price will be higher than what you pay + 39 cents connection fee for each call + 3$ one time fee +.... people whom you talk to have either very strong Indian or Spanish accents (no offence) and you do not understand what you get at the end. After the first invoice you will understand how much you are F*cked up!!

  31. The representative of Nuera Telecom from Montreal, Quebec called our home so many times and kind of forced me by lying to me to go with their long distance calling service. The representative name was Mr David with the employee ID Number of NT-0119. He said the rate of calling to Iran is 2 cents/min with no additional charge. He also lied to me about the refundable activation fee and told me they won't charge the activation fee of 40 $ until the first month is passed. Then I noticed that after 2-3 days they charge my credit card for the activation fee so I found out something should be wrong and I stopped using their service. After one month, I checked my bill for the month and I noticed they charged me 9 cents per minute for the calling to Iran in addition to other fees so that for 114 minutes of talking to Iran I got a bill of 10.7 $. Based on the 2 cents per minute charge, I should have got the bill of 2.28$. They also have some stupid rule that if I don't pay the bill on time they will charge me extra 15$ as a late fee or if I don't use the service they will charge me for nothing. I closed my account on September and they said they will refund me the balance of 32.15$ after three weeks. It is now more than 2 months passed and I haven't got my activation fee back.

  32. A big fraud company. They will start charging less for first month. And 3rd month they will charge you 70-80 dollers per month. And you can not launch a complaint for overcharging. They will ask you for your visa card at the start of your contract and then charge the amount from your visa without asking you. When you call them, they will listen your story and will not help you at all. It is a big fraud company looking for your visa card and making money from you. Very bad call quality as well. Take ages to connect a call.

  34. The worst company I have dealt with in my whole life. They are bunch of confident liars. It is hard to believe that they are still in business.
    The guys call you from India and pretend to be your religious brothers. They promise 1 c/min to Pakistan and tell you that ignore 4.4 c/min when confirmation agent calls you. The bill comes at 4.4 c/min. Call the company and they says you agreed to 4.4 with our confirmation agent. I asked to cancel the account. I yet have to see my $38.95 refund after more than 3 months. Now they tell me it takes 3 to 6 months while they charge your card in minutes. Horrible company. They don't leave me alone and still keep calling me for more accounts.

    LIARS and FRAUDS!!!!!!!

    Stay away altogether.

    On the other hand, Call4Sale did give me 2,500 minutes to Pakistan for $25 plus 9% tax. Their rate would go up after 1st purchase of $25.

  35. I am a victim of this company too. Their staff member, Shahid left absuive messages on my cell phone and threatened my wife too. He said that he has access to my credit card and will charge large amounts. I had to cancel the credit card. Everyone please stay away from them.

  38. I was nearly victimized by this neuratel/New Era tel guys. Their promise seemed wonderful to me at first site because I could easily make international calls but I became suspicious when this "UNKNOWN NUMBER" CALLER wanted me to give him my debit card details right away. He was impatient and very dictatorial. When I demanded to know the company, he took my email and promised to forward the details to me but persisted in demanding for my debit card details on the phone. I was smarter, by God's grace, and coxed him to give me the company's name and website. He told me not to google but type the website address directly into the address bar. I did otherwise and now by numerous comments on Google, my suspicion is obvious. They are real FRAUDSTERS.
